The Kothapeta parish, located within the Diocese of Nalgonda, was established in 2012. The church was named Nithya Sagayamadha Church. Fr. Saji Njarackal, C. M., served as the Parish Priest. Since its founding, the parish has been served by a succession of priests: Fr. Vinay Sagar, C. M. (second parish priest) Fr. Sunil Rao, C. M. (third parish priest) Fr. Saju Kadaparmbil, C. M. (fourth parish priest) Fr. Vincent Edakarot, C. M. (fifth parish priest, served for three months) Fr. Leo Joseph, C. M. (current parish priest) The Kothapeta parish is considered a poor mission station focused on spiritual nourishment of the flock. It includes the main church in Kothapeta village and four substations in the villages of Kasangode, Bopparam, Metupalygudam, and Thalagunda. All four substations have Sunday Masses, with additional Masses celebrated on other days as needed. Spiritual activities at the parish include a special service on the first Friday of every month at 6:30 p.m., which consists of adoration, the Holy Rosary, Holy Mass, and confession. The parish also receives monthly visits from the Nirmala sisters from the Tipathy convent. These sisters support the community through mission development programs, family counseling, assisting youth, praying for the sick, showing movies in the evening, and collaborating in various other activities. On the days the sisters are not present, family prayers are conducted by the parish priest. A new church is currently under construction in the Bopparam substation, overseen by the current parish priest, Fr. Leo Joseph, C. M.
