Bishop Edward Francis of Sivagangai Diocese invited the Congregation of the Mission in 1989 to take up Kallal, a small village about 350 kms away from Madurai. Five acres of land was given 'ad usum perpetuum' by the Diocese to the Congregation for the Parish Church and the Presbytery. Due to some difficulties we had to ask the Bishop to give another plot of 2.5 acres. In this place a presbytery was built in 1990. With the help of the Diocese, the Parish Church was built in 1991, and it was blessed and dedicated to the Queen of the Mission by Bishop Edward Francis. Kallal has 10 substations with village chapels. The Parish has a hostel for the boys.
